Early frost will possibly occur on the Granite Belt. Forecast for Monday The high moves closer to the southern Western Australia coast, maintaining the ridge over Queensland, with fine conditions persisting through most districts. Moist low level winds will continue to produce isolated showers and morning drizzle on the coast and adjacent inland between about Cooktown and Rockhampton. Isolated showers will also persist through northern Cape York Peninsula and Torres Strait. Some mid to high level cloud will extend over southern Queensland but again with no rain expected due to dry W'ly winds at the surface. Early frost will possibly occur on the Granite Belt. Outlook for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday The high will move slowly east through the southern Great Australian Bight over the outlook period, gradually strengthening the ridge and extending fresh to strong SE winds along the east Queensland coast. The increasing onshore wind flow will move showers onto the east tropical coast, also developing on the exposed southern coast on Thursday. A trough will most likely move into central Australia on Thursday, extending some cloud and possible patchy light rain into far western Queensland. Fine conditions are expected elsewhere over the interior. Early frosts patches will occur over the southern and southeast interior. The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am EST Friday.
