Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Apr 30/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough over far southwestern Victoria will gradually move eastwards across the State today and Monday introducing a cooler southerly airflow. A high pressure system will develop over the Bight on Tuesday. The high will move only slowly eastwards on Wednesday as a cold front passes from the Southern Ocean to the Tasman Sea, just clipping Tasmania.
Forecast for the rest of SundayEarly morning fog patches in Gippsland. Rain areas over the southwest extending to remaining western and central districts during the day, then clearing in the southwest this evening. Isolated showers developing about the eastern ranges. Mostly cloudy with mild northerly winds turning cooler southwesterly from the west during the day.Fire Danger -  Low to moderate.Monday 2 MayAreas of rain contracting eastwards. Scattered showers to follow in southern and mountain areas. A cool and mostly cloudy day with moderate to locally fresh south to southwesterly winds.Tuesday 3 MayScattered showers in southern and mountain districts possibly falling as snow on the higher alpine peaks at night. Cool with a moderate to fresh southerly winds.Wednesday 4 MayIsolated showers in the south. Fine and mostly sunny north of the divide. Cool with moderate to locally fresh south to southwesterly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Sunday.Product IDV10310
