Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Apr 28/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A strong high pressure system in the Tasman Sea will move only slowly eastwards, crossing New Zealand on Saturday. A cold front will weaken to a trough of low pressure as it approaches far southwestern Victoria late Friday and will remain in the vicinity on Saturday. The trough will push into western districts on Sunday before moving across the rest of the state on Monday.
Forecast for the rest of FridayMorning fog patches in the east and some patchy rain developing at night in the far southwest. Otherwise a mild day with high cloud increasing from the west. Light to moderate northerly winds, fresh at times in the southwest. Afternoon coastal seabreezes in Gippsland.Fire Danger -  Low to moderate.Saturday 30 AprilPatchy rain over the southwest and isolated showers developing over East Gippsland. Otherwise a mild and mostly cloudy day with light northerly winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes in Gippsland.Sunday 1 MayPatchy rain over the west extending to central districts in the afternoon and evening. Mostly cloudy in the east. Mild northerly winds turning cooler west to southwesterly in the west during the day.Monday 2 MayAreas of rain tending to isolated showers from the west during the day. Showers more widespread over the south. A cool and mostly cloudy day with light to moderate south to southwesterly winds extending throughout and freshening near the western coast.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Friday.Product IDV10310
