Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Apr 28/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A strong high pressure system over the southwestern Tasman Sea extends a ridge to New South Wales north coast and a low pressure system is developing over the Coral Sea. During Saturday and Sunday the low will move over the central Tasman Sea as the high moves towards New Zealand maintaining the ridge to the south
and central coasts and a weak cold front is expected to move across the far south of the state.
Forecast for the rest of Friday
The chance of showers on the south coast. Isolated showers about the remainder of coast and adjacent ranges tending scattered on the central and northern coasts with possible heavy falls along the northern coastal fringe. The chance of thunderstorm on the north coast. Partly cloudy elsewhere. East to southeast winds.
Dangerous surf conditions along the coast north from the Illawarra, hazardous for coastal activities such as swimming, surfing and rock fishing.
Saturday 30 April
The chance of showers on the south coast. Isolated showers about the remainder of coast and adjacent ranges tending scattered on the central and northern coasts. Possible heavy falls along the northern coastal fringe. Partly cloudy elsewhere. South to southeast winds.
Dangerous surf conditions along the coast north from the Illawarra, hazardous for coastal activities such as swimming, surfing and rock fishing.
Sunday 1 May
Possible coastal showers apart from the far north and far south. Late patchy rain in the southwest. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southwest to southeast winds.
Dangerous surf conditions along the New South Wales coast, hazardous for coastal activities such as swimming, surfing and rock fishing.
Monday 2 May
Patchy rain in the west and southern inland, possible showers along the coast. Partly cloudy elsewhere. South to southwest winds.
Dangerous surf conditions along the New South Wales coast, hazardous for coastal activities such as swimming, surfing and rock fishing, easing in the north.
