Creek.

Weather Situation
A high [1026 hPa] lies over the western Great Australian Bight New Zealand
and extends a ridge into western Queensland. A weak low lies well off the
Central Coast. The high in the Bight will move east across southern Australia
over the next few days and intensify.
Forecast for the rest of Friday
The high in the Bight should drift slowly to the east maintaining dry,
southerly winds over western Queensland and the southern interior. Fine again
over most of the state, but an onshore airflow will continue to produce isolated
showers over the eastern districts and there is just the chance of isolated
thunderstorms about the southeast as an upper level trough moves over the area.
Isolated showers and thunderstorms over Cape York Peninsula and fine over the
western districts. Early morning fog areas about the east coast and adjacent
inland areas. Light to moderate S to SE winds over the western and central
districts, light to moderate E to SE winds over the eastern districts.
Forecast for Saturday
The high will move slowly east over southeastern Australia and continue to
extend a ridge over the Queensland interior, maintaining fine and dry conditions
in the state's interior. An onshore airflow will persist along the east coast,
with isolated showers expected as well as some early morning fogs. The upper
trough over southern Queensland will extend northwards and may produce isolated
thunderstorms about the east coast and the nearby inland areas. Isolated showers
and thunderstorms are again expected over the Peninsula district.
Forecast for Sunday
The high should strengthen near Tasmania and direct fresh southeast winds
onto Queensland's east coast. The upper trough should eventually push off the
east coast with conditions stabilising in the east of the state. The
strengthening onshore flow and lingering upper trough may cause showers to
increase about the southeast coast, tending more isolated further inland.
Isolated showers and thunderstorms will continue about the far north of the
Peninsula district. Fine over the western districts and most of the
interior.
Forecast for Monday
The high should remain over the western reaches of the Tasman sea and
intensify slightly maintaining fresh to strong southeast winds along the east
coast of Queensland. Isolated showers will continue about the east coast and
adjacent inland areas, tending scattered about the North Tropical Coast. Dry
southerly winds will keep most of the interior of the state fine.
Outlook for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
The high should remain over the western Tasman Sea, maintaining a firm ridge
and fresh to strong onshore winds along the east coast of Queensland. Scattered
showers will continue about the east coast, tending more isolated over the
nearby inland areas. Showers and thunderstorms will continue over the Peninsula
district, but conditions should remain fine in the west and through the southern
interior.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:10 pm EST
Friday.
