MELBOURNE - Apr 19/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A broad high pressure ridge dominates most of New South Wales with a weak trough near the northern border. Over the course of the next couple of days, the ridge will gradually weaken as frontal activity increases to the south by the middle of the week. Another ridge will strengthen from the west at the end of the week with a trough developing off the central and northern coast. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayIsolated showers on the far north coast and adjacent ranges. Fine elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds tending light and variable in the west.Wednesday 20 AprilPartly cloudy in the far west. Isolated showers on the far north coast and over the southern and central parts, tending scattered on the far southern ranges. The chance of showers remainder. The chance of thunderstorms over the central and southeastern parts as well as for the parts of northern coast. Early fog in the central and inland northern parts. Light variable winds.Thursday 21 AprilIsolated showers in the southeast, chance of showers in the northeast. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Northwest to southwest winds.Friday 22 AprilIsolated showers in the southeast and northeast with the chance of thunderstorms on the northern coast and adjacent ranges. The chance of showers for the central and inland northern parts. Partly cloudy elsewhere. West to southwest winds and local sea breezes on the northern coast.Saturday 23 AprilIsolated showers along the central and northern coastal fringe with the chance of showers on the adjacent eastern ranges.
