Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Apr 16/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure system over the Southern Tasman Sea is moving slowly towards New Zealand and a high pressure system is moving towards the Bass extending a ridge to the southwestern Tasman Sea. An upper level trough over the northern New South Wales is expected to weaken gradually during Saturday and Sunday as the high moves over the southeastern Australia strengthening the ridge across the state.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayRain areas in the northeast with possible isolated thunderstorms, possible locally heavy falls about the North West Slopes and Northern Tablelands during the morning. Scattered showers about central parts of the coast, and ranges. Isolated showers about the south coast and adjacent ranges. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southeasterly winds, fresh to strong along the coast.Sunday 17 AprilIsolated showers in the northeast tending scattered near the coast. Isolated showers on the south coast. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Early frost on the southern ranges. Southeasterly winds becoming light and variable in the south and tending northeasterly in the far southeast later.Monday 18 AprilIsolated showers on the north coast and the chance of showers in the far northwest. Partly cloudy remainder. Southeast to northeast winds tending west to northwest in the far southeast.Tuesday 19 AprilIsolated showers on the far north coast and possibly about the western slopes of the far southern ranges. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Variable winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Saturday.Product IDN10031
