Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Apr 14/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure system over the Southern Tasman Sea is expected to move slowly to the east over the next 36 hours as a high pressure system move towards Tasmania. An upper level trough is expected to move into the west of the state on Friday and should be a dominant influence over the weekend as it moves slowly across the northern inland, with the high remaining near Tasmania directing a southeasterly airstream across New South Wales.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers in the far southeast. Patchy rain developing in the northwest. Fine remainder. Southwest to southeast winds.Friday 15 AprilIsolated showers in the southeast, increasing about the South Coast and extending to central parts of the coast later. Rain areas in the northwest with possible isolated thunderstorms. Patchy rain extending to the northeast later. Generally fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Southwest to southeast winds, fresh to strong on the southern coast.Saturday 16 AprilRain areas in the northeast with possible isolated thunderstorms. Scattered showers about central parts of the coast and ranges. Isolated showers about the south coast and ranges, central west slopes and central north. Fine further west. Cool, cloudy day in the east. Southeasterly winds, fresh to strong along the coast.Sunday 17 AprilScattered showers along the north coast. Isolated showers about the remainder of the northeast and along the south coast. Fine elsewhere. Southeasterly winds becoming light in the south and tending northeasterly in the far southeast later.Monday 18 AprilIsolated showers north coast and possibly about the remainder of the northeast and central north. Fine remainder. Chiefly light to moderate winds, variable in direction.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 am EST Friday.Product IDN10031
