Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Apr 12/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A complex low pressure system just east of Tasmania will move slowly northwards to be located over eastern Bass Strait on Wednesday. The low will move slowly eastwards during Thursday as a high pressure ridges to the south of Tasmania. The low will be located near New Zealand by late Friday and the high centre will move over Tasmania late on Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayShowers mainly over southern and mountain areas, more widespread over West and South Gippsland. Isolated thunderstorms in the northeast this evening. Snowfalls about the higher Alpine peaks. Light to moderate west to southwesterly winds.Wednesday 13 AprilScattered showers mainly over southern and mountain districts, widespread over West and South Gippsland, where tending to rain for a period in the morning. Early snow about the Alpine peaks. Cool with moderate to locally fresh west to southwesterly winds.Fire Danger -  Low to moderate.Thursday 14 AprilScattered showers on and south of the ranges. Isolated afternoon showers over the north, but fine over the far northwest. Cool with moderate to locally fresh southwest to southeasterly winds.Friday 15 AprilScattered showers over Gippsland and near the Otway ranges. Isolated showers over remaining southern and mountain districts, but fine over the north and northwest. Cool with moderate to locally fresh southeasterly winds.Saturday 16 AprilFine in the northwest. Isolated showers in southern and mountain districts, more scattered in Gippsland.
