MELBOURNE - Apr 11/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure system is deepening near the Bass Strait as an upper cold pool moves over the southeastern Australia and a cold front is moving across far northeastern New South Wales. The low and cold pool are expected to move slowly to the southeast during Tuesday and Wednesday and a high pressure system is expected to move west of Tasmania on Thursday extending a ridge to the northeast of the state. Forecast for the rest of MondayRain areas and possible thunderstorms in the far northeast, contracting further northeast. Scattered showers and the chance of thunderstorms in the southeastern inland. Snow showers on the Snowy Mountains above about 1400 metres. Partly cloudy remainder. West to northwest winds.Tuesday 12 AprilIsolated showers in the southeastern inland tending scattered on the western slopes of the southern ranges. Snow showers on the Snowy Mountains above about 1600 metres in the morning. Isolated clearing showers on the far north coast. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Westerly winds and local sea breezes on the northern parts of the coast.Wednesday 13 AprilIsolated showers on the western slopes of the southern ranges. Mostly sunny remainder. Westerly winds and local sea breezes on the northern parts of the coast.Thursday 14 AprilIsolated clearing showers on the western slopes of the far southern ranges.
