MELBOURNE - Apr 9/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure system west of Tasmania will be centred just to the south of Victoria by Sunday night. The low will remain in the vicinity during Monday and Tuesday, before slowly drifting eastwards on Wednesday. Forecast for the rest of SundayRain areas clearing from the far east during the morning with isolated showers redeveloping over most districts by the afternoon. Showers becoming more widespread over the southwest during the afternoon and tending to rain at times. Isolated thunderstorms possible over the west and late snow about the Alpine peaks. Cool with moderate to fresh west to northwest winds over the east, tending southwesterly over the west.Fire Danger - Low to moderate.Monday 11 AprilScattered showers. Isolated thunderstorms. The chance of snow showers about the higher Alpine peaks. Cool with light winds in the east and moderate to fresh southwest to southerly winds developing over the west.Tuesday 12 AprilScattered showers over southern and mountain areas, widespread over the Central district and locally tending to rain at times. The chance of snow showers about the higher Alpine peaks. Isolated showers over the northern plains. A cool day with generally moderate to fresh west to southwesterly winds extending to most districts by the evening.Wednesday 13 AprilScattered showers mainly over southern and mountain districts, widespread over West and South Gippsland.
