MELBOURNE - Apr 8/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A strong high over the Southern Tasman Sea extends a ridge to the central NSW coast. A cold front approaching NSW is expected to move slowly across the state Sunday and Monday with a low pressure area lying over southern NSW or Victoria Monday and Tuesday. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated showers along the north coast and adjacent ranges, contracting towards the Queensland border during the day. Rain areas developing in the southwest late in the day. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Early fog patches in the east. Southeast to northeast winds, tending warm northwesterly in the west.Sunday 10 AprilScattered showers or rain areas developing in most areas from the southwest, tending lighter and more isolated further north and towards the coast. West to northwest winds tending north to northeast near the coast. Southwesterly change in the west.Monday 11 AprilScattered showers or rain areas in the east, lighter and more isolated on the coast and towards the north and west, contracting eastwards. Snow on the higher ground of the Snowy Mountains area above 1400 metres. Fine in the far northwest. Mostly west to southwesterly winds, west to northwesterly in the far northeast.Tuesday 12 AprilScattered showers in the southeast, more isolated to the north and west and falling as snow on the Snowy Mountains above about 1500 metres.
