Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Apr 8/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A strong high pressure system over the southwestern Tasman Sea is slowly moving east maintaining a southeasterly airstream onto the northern half of the New South Wales coast. A cold front and an associated low to the south is expected to move slowly through the state during Sunday and Monday.
Forecast for the rest of FridayScattered to isolated showers about central and northern parts of the coast and adjacent ranges. Fine and mostly clear elsewhere. Southeast winds tending northeast in the south and northwest.Saturday 9 AprilIsolated showers on the northern half of the coast and adjacent ranges tending scattered in the far north. Scattered showers or rain areas developing in the southwest and southern inland late in the day. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds, tending warm northwesterly in the west.Sunday 10 AprilScattered showers or rain areas developing in most areas from the southwest, tending lighter and more isolated further north and towards the coast. West to northwest winds tending north to northeast near the coast. Southwesterly change in the west.Monday 11 AprilScattered showers or rain areas in the east, lighter and more isolated on the coast and towards the north and west, contracting eastwards. Snow on the higher ground of the Snowy Mountains area above 1400 metres. Fine in the far northwest. Mostly west to southwesterly winds, west to northwesterly in the far northeast.Tuesday 12 AprilScattered showers in the southeast, more isolated to the north and west and falling as snow on the Snowy Mountains above about 1500 metres. Fine and mostly sunny in the northern inland and on the central and northern coast.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 am EST Saturday.Product IDN10031
