MELBOURNE - Mar 30/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A weak cold front will clear out of eastern Victoria this evening. A high pressure ridge will extend across Victoria during Thursday then another cold front will cross Tasmania and southern Victoria on Friday. A strong high pressure system will move over the Bight during the weekend. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayShowers in southern and mountain areas becoming isolated and local thunderstorms clearing from the far east. Cool with fresh and gusty southwesterly winds, strong about the central and Gippsland coast.Thursday 31 MarchIsolated showers in the south, mainly near the coast and contracting to Gippsland by the afternoon. Dry and mostly sunny over the northern plains. Cool with fresh southwest to southerly wind gradually moderating.Fire Danger - Low to moderate.Friday 1 AprilIsolated showers developing over the southwest by midday then extending to remaining southern areas late in the day and evening. Dry and mostly sunny over the north. Cool to mild with moderate westerly wind shifting fresh and gusty southwesterly from the west in the afternoon and evening.Saturday 2 AprilIsolated showers on and south of the ranges. Dry and mainly sunny north of the ranges. Cool with fresh and gusty south to southwest winds.Sunday 3 AprilIsolated showers on and south of the ranges. Dry and mainly sunny north of the ranges.
