Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 20/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A broad low pressure trough over New South Wales will deepen on Monday and a low will develop east of the Bass Strait. During Tuesday and Wednesday the trough and the low are expected to move east as a high pressure system moves south of the Bight extending a ridge to the western parts of the state.
Forecast for the rest of Sunday
Scattered showers in the far northeast, and on the coast and adjacent ranges. Showers heavy at times on the southern half of the coasts. Rain and possibly thunderstorms developing in the far west. The chance of showers on the western slopes of the central and southern ranges. Mostly cloudy elsewhere. South to southeast winds on the coast, east to southeast inland.
Dangerous surf conditions, hazardous for coastal activities such as swimming, surfing and rock fishing.
Monday 21 MarchRain areas throughout and possible thunderstorms. Rain tending widespread in the southeast but clearing from the west. South to southeast winds.Tuesday 22 MarchIsolated showers in the eastern half tending scattered near the coast and on adjacent ranges. Mostly sunny in the west. East to southeast winds tending southwesterly in the west.Wednesday 23 MarchIsolated showers in the northeast tending scattered ear the coast. The chance of showers in the far southern inland. Mostly sunny elsewhre. Westerly winds tending southeast to northeast near the coast.Thursday 24 MarchIsolated showers in the southeasr and on the far north coast. Partly clody elsewhere. Southwest to southeast winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 am EDT Monday.Product IDN10031
