MELBOURNE - Mar 18/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A trough along the central and mid north coasts is expected to move slowly to the east today as a high south of the Bight extends a ridge over the south coast. The high will move slowly east into the Southern Tasman Sea over the next few days as the trough remains slow moving off the north coast. A second trough is expected to move into western NSW over the weekend then intensify as it moves further to the east early next week. Forecast for the rest of FridayScattered showers in the north and east. Scattered afternoon and evening thunderstorms in the northeast, locally heavy. Isolated showers in the far west. Fine over most of the southern inland though cloudy. Morning fog patches in the east. Light to moderate south to southeast winds.Saturday 19 MarchScattered showers in the northeast. Isolated showers about the remainder of the north and east. Fine in the southwest. East to southeast winds.Sunday 20 MarchIsolated showers in the east. Rain areas developing in the west. Fine on most of the western slopes. South to southeast winds on the coast, east to southeast inland.Monday 21 MarchIsolated showers in most of the state, tending to rain areas in the far west. Fine in much of the southern inland.
