MELBOURNE - Mar 12/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation The northern tip of a cold front will combine with an inland trough to push across Victoria today. The next high pressure system will pass to the south of Victoria on Monday before drifting eastwards across the Tasman Sea on Tuesday. A weak cold front will cross Tasmania on Tuesday night then a high pressure ridge will develop across southern Victoria on Wednesday. Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated showers, becoming scattered in eastern districts. Isolated thunderstorms possible over the north and east. Warm and humid in most areas at first. A cooler, fresh southwest to southerly change in the southwest during the morning, extending across central parts by early afternoon to reach the east and north later in the day.Fire Danger - Low to moderateMonday 14 MarchMorning drizzle patches in the south. Isolated showers over the north mostly clearing. Cool to mild with moderate southerly winds.Tuesday 15 MarchIsolated showers possible over the northeast and Gippsland, otherwise fine. Mild in the south but warmer in the north. Generally light south to southeasterly wind and afternoon coastal sea breezes.Wednesday 16 MarchIsolated showers in the northeast during the morning and near the coastal fringe late in the day.
