Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 9/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A slow moving high pressure system near New Zealand is extending a ridge to New South Wales north coast and a low pressure trough lies over the far west of the state. The trough will move to the northeast during Thursday and weaken as a cold front crosses the southern Tasman Sea. Another weak trough is expected to develop across the northwest and southeast on Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayRain areas in west extending to the southeastern inland. The chance of thunderstorms in the far west. Mostly cloudy elsewhere. Northwest to northeast winds, tending southwest to southeast in the southwest.Thursday 10 MarchPatchy rain developing in the northeast. Rain areas elsewhere, easing in the far southwest. The chance of thunderstorms in the far southern inland. Northwest to northeast winds ahead of a southerly change extending across the west and southeast.Friday 11 MarchScattered showers in the northwest and southeast. Isolated showers elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds.Saturday 12 MarchIsolated showers on the coast and on adjacent ranges and in the far northeastern inland. Scattered showers on the western slopes of the central ranges. Patchy rain developing in the far southern inland. Partly cloudy elsewhere. North to northeast winds.Sunday 13 MarchPartly cloudy in the northern inland. Isolated shower elsewhere.
