Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 8/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A weakening low pressure trough over central Victoria will drift slowly eastwards across the remainder of the State during Wednesday, reaching the far east early Thursday morning. A high pressure system will move over Tasmania on Friday and settle in the southern Tasman Sea by Saturday. A weakening cold front will move across Tasmania late on Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayPatchy rain, more extensive at times near and north of the divide but easing to drizzle in the southwest. Isolated thunderstorms possible across the north. Mild and humid with light to moderate northerly winds over eastern parts but winds tending cooler moderate southerly over most of the south and west.Fire Danger -  Low to moderate.Thursday 10 MarchAreas of rain and isolated thunderstorms contracting east. Local morning drizzle in remaining southern areas. Cool to mild with south to southeasterly winds extending throughout.Friday 11 MarchIsolated showers in southern and mountain areas contracting to the east during the day. Mild in the south, warmer in the north with light to moderate east to southeasterly winds, fresh at times near the coast.Saturday 12 MarchIsolated showers developing. Warm and generally sunny day with moderate northerly winds and afternoon sea breezes.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Wednesday.Product IDV10310
