Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 8/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A slow moving high centred over the southern Tasman Sea maintains a ridge over eastern New South Wales. A low pressure trough to the west is likely to affect the west and south of the state tonight and on Wednesday, reaching central districts on Thursday as the ridge contracts to the northeast. Another high developing in the Bight behind the trough is expected to move quickly towards New Zealand at the end of the week.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayIsolated showers on the north and central coast and adjacent ranges. Patchy rain developing in the far south and west. Fine elsewhere. North to northeast winds.Wednesday 9 MarchRain areas extending across the western and southern districts. Fine elsewhere. Northwest to northeast winds, tending southwest to southeast in the southwestern parts later.Thursday 10 MarchRain areas in most of the state, tending patchy and light towards the northeast and easing in the far southwest. Fine in the far northeast. Northwest to northeast winds ahead of a southerly change extending across the western and southern districts.Friday 11 MarchIsolated showers in most parts, tending scattered in the southeast and clearing from the west. Fine in the far west. Generally southeast to northeast winds.Saturday 12 MarchIsolated showers in the northeast, northern inland and southwards to the Illawarra coast and ranges. Fine elsewhere. North to northeast winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 am EDT Wednesday.Product IDN10031
