MELBOURNE - Feb 27/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over the southern Tasman Sea is moving east maintaining a ridge to New South Wales far north coast and a low pressure trough is developing across the northwest and southeast of the state. The trough will move northeast during Monday as a cold front crosses the southern Tasman Sea and another high moves south of Bight extending a ridge to the south and central coasts. Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated showers in the southeast and isolated showers or thunderstorms on the north coast and ranges. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Northwest to northeast winds, turning southerly in the south.Monday 28 FebruaryIsolated showers in the east tending scattered in the far southeast, possible thunderstorms. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Northwest to northeast winds in the northeast, southwest to southeasterly winds in the remainder.Fire Danger - Very High in Greater Hunter, Central Ranges, Northern Slopes and in the Northwestern.Tuesday 1 MarchIsolated showers tending scattered on the central coast and ranges but clearing from the southwest. Possible thunderstorms in the northeast.
