MELBOURNE - Feb 23/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system south of Adelaide will drift across Tasmania during Friday, reaching the Tasman Sea by Friday night. A weak cold front will pass to the south of Victoria on Saturday with an associated trough reaching western and central districts. The trough will clear eastern Victoria early Sunday as the next high pressure system begins to form south of the Bight Forecast for the rest of ThursdayMorning cloud and fog patches in the south clearing during the morning then a mild to warm and mostly sunny day. Light winds tending southerly and freshening about the coast during the afternoon.Fire Danger - Low to moderate.Friday 25 FebruaryPartly cloudy. Isolated showers possible over the northwest, otherwise fine. Mild to warm with light to moderate southerly winds, fresh at times near the coast in the afternoon.Saturday 26 FebruaryPartly cloudy with isolated showers over the northwest extending to remaining northern and central areas. Warm with generally light northerly winds ahead of a cooler southwest to southerly change over western and central districts.Sunday 27 FebruaryIsolated showers extending across the state, but clearing later in the west. Isolated thunderstorms developing during the afternoon in the northeast.
