MELBOURNE - Feb 14/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high east of Tasmania is moving slowly east, extending a ridge along the New South Wales coast. Meanwhile, a low pressure trough lies over South Australia. The approach of a cold front from the Southern Ocean mid-week is likely to result in the trough deepening and moving back over the New South Wales. This sequence is likely to see most districts receive some rainfall through the week. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayShowers in most district. Isolated thunderstorms over the western inland and on the far north coast. Northeast to southeast winds.Wednesday 16 FebruaryShowers over most of the state, more isolated about the northern slopes and plains and in the far southwest. Isolated thunderstorms inland. North to northeast winds, ahead of a southwesterly change in the southwest.Thursday 17 FebruaryScattered showers and isolated thunderstorms. Mostly southeast to northeast winds.Friday 18 FebruaryIsolated to scattered showers, mostly over the southeastern half. Southeast to northeast winds.Saturday 19 FebruaryScattered showers in the south, more isolated in central parts. Fine in the north apart from isolated showers on the far north caost.
