Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 12/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A ridge of high pressure extends across the northern Tasman Sea to the Queensland coast, while a trough stretches over the central Tasman Sea into northeast New South Wales. This trough will remain a feature over inland New South Wales during the first half of next week. Meanwhile, a high south of Western Australia is moving slowly eastwards and will push a strengthening ridge along the New South Wales coast later today as a cold front passes to the south. This high is expected to reach the Tasman Sea on Monday, and should maintain generally easterly winds across the region for the following few days.
Forecast for the rest of SundayFine and mostly sunny in the southwest. Showers elsewhere, increasing to rain areas about parts of the northern coast and ranges. Possible thunderstorms in the northeast and over the central ranges. East to southeast winds, tending southerly along the southern half of the coast.Monday 14 FebruaryFine and mostly sunny over the southern inland, and fine though partly cloudy on the south coast. Scattered showers in the north and along the central coast, tending to rain areas about the northern coast. Isolated showers over the remainder. Isolated afternoon thunderstorms about the Upper Western region. East to southeast winds.Tuesday 15 FebruaryFine and mostly sunny in the southwest. Isolated showers elsewhere, tending scattered in the northeast. Northeast to southeast winds.Wednesday 16 FebruaryShowers over most of the state, although isolated in the southwest.
