Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 11/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system south of Western Australia extends a ridge towards Victoria. A cold front crossing the Southern Ocean will clip Tasmania tonight. The high will move over waters south of the Bight during Sunday then will pass across Tasmania on Monday. The high will continue moving southeastwards, reaching the south Tasman Sea on Tuesday. A low pressure trough will approach western Victoria later Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayFine apart from isolated showers in the far east. Partly cloudy with light to moderate southerly winds.Sunday 13 FebruaryIsolated showers in the south, clearing during the afternoon. Dry elsewhere and mostly sunny inland. A cool to mild day with moderate to locally fresh southerly winds.Fire Danger -  Low to moderate.Monday 14 FebruaryFine, mild and mostly sunny. Moderate east to southeasterly winds, freshening about the coast during the afternoon.Tuesday 15 FebruaryIsolated showers developing from the north during the day, mainly about the ranges. Isolated thunderstorms about the ranges in the afternoon and evening. A mild to warm day with light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds, fresh at times near the coast.Wednesday 16 FebruaryIsolated showers, mainly over central and eastern parts and more widespread in the northeast. Isolated thunderstorms possible in the northeast. A mild to warm day with light to moderate northeast to southeasterly winds, fresh at times near the coast during the afternoon.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EDT Sunday.Product IDV10310
