Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 11/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system near New Zealand extends a ridge toward Queensland. A cold front bringing southerly winds to southern and central parts of the state is weakening into a trough over the northeast. This trough will broaden and remain over inland NSW during the first half of next week. Another high over the western Bight is moving eastwards and is expected to move east of Tasmania on Monday. This high will be preceded by another southerly change along the southern coast on Sunday morning.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayFine in the far southern inland and the far northern inland. Isolated showers or patchy rain over most of the remainder, although rain areas and isolated thunderstorms about the central tablelands and parts of the central west. East to northeast winds in the northeast. Southwest to southeast winds elsewhere.Sunday 13 FebruaryFine and mostly sunny in the southwest. Showers elsewhere, increasing to rain areas about the northern coast. Possible thunderstorms in the north and over the central ranges and slopes. East to southeast winds, tending southerly along the southern half of the coast.Monday 14 FebruaryMostly sunny in the southern inland and fine though partly cloudy on the far south coast. Scattered shower in the north and along the central coast, tending to rain areas about the northern coast. Isolated showers over the remainder. Isolated afternoon thunderstorms about the Upper Western region. East to southeast winds.Tuesday 15 FebruaryFine and mostly sunny in the southwest. Isolated showers elsewhere, tending scattered in the northeast. Northeast to southeast winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Saturday.Product IDN10031
