Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 10/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A trough of low pressure will cross the State during Friday. A high pressure system will develop to the south of Western Australia during Saturday and extend a ridge towards Victoria. Another cold front will cross Tasmania Saturday night before the high can move over Bight waters on Sunday then across Tasmania on Monday.
Forecast for the rest of FridayRain areas extending throughout during the morning before contracting to the far north and east tonight. Scattered showers to follow, mainly in the south. The risk of thunderstorms, mainly over central and eastern areas. Locally heavy falls on the eastern ranges. Mild to warm and humid north to northwest winds gradually tending cooler fresh southwest to southerly .Fire Danger -  Generally low to moderate.Saturday 12 FebruaryShowers in the east and south becoming isolated and clearing from western and central areas. Cool to mild and mostly cloudy with moderate to fresh southerly winds.Sunday 13 FebruaryIsolated showers in the east, clearing by early afternoon. The chance of light showers about the west and central coast also but generally dry. Mostly sunny inland. A mild day with moderate southerly winds.Monday 14 FebruaryFine and generally mild. Sunny in the north and patchy cloud south of the ranges. Moderate southeasterly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Friday.Product IDV10310
