MELBOURNE - Feb 9/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over the southern Tasman Sea is slowly moving towards New Zealand maintaining a ridge to New South Wales north coast. A cold front will move across the west and southeast of the state during Friday and then it will weaken into a trough over the northeastern inland on Saturday. Another high pressure system is expected to move south of the Bight during Saturday extending a ridge to the north coast behind the front. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers along the central and northern coasts, contracting further north during the day. The chance of showers and thunderstorms near the western and southern borders. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds.Friday 11 FebruaryCloud increasing in the northeast. Rain developing in the far south and extending through the northwest and southeast, possible thunderstorms. Northwest to northeast winds ahead of southerly change in the west and southeast.Saturday 12 FebruaryPartly cloudy in the far southwestern and in the far northeastern inland. Scattered showers on the coast and adjacent tranges with possible thunderstorms in the north. Rain areas and isolated thunderstorms elsewhere. Northwest to northeast winds in the northeast. South to southeast winds elsewhere.Sunday 13 FebruaryShowers in most districts.
