Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 9/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system just east of Bass Strait will drift across the Tasman Sea on Thursday. A trough of low pressure will enter western Victoria late Thursday and will cross the State during Friday ahead of a cold front crossing Bass Strait late on Friday. A high pressure system will develop to the south of Western Australia during Saturday and extend a ridge towards Victoria, but another cold front will cross Tasmania Saturday night before the high can move over Bight waters on Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayFine with patchy high cloud and generally light winds.Thursday 10 FebruaryFine during the morning. Isolated showers and thunderstorms developing during the afternoon, mainly over central and northwestern districts. Remaining dry in East Gippsland. Warm and becoming humid with light to moderate northerly winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes.Fire Danger -  Low to moderate, grading to high in the northwest.Friday 11 FebruaryAreas of rain with isolated thunderstorms, easing to showers in the west and south during the afternoon. Locally heavy falls over central and eastern ranges. Mild to warm and humid north to northwest winds tending cooler fresh southwest to southerly across western and central districts.Saturday 12 FebruaryRain in the far east, easing to showers during the morning. Isolated showers over southern areas, clearing from the west. Cool to mild and mostly cloudy with moderate to fresh southerly winds.Sunday 13 FebruaryIsolated showers in the east, clearing by early afternoon. Becoming sunny in the west. A cool to mild day with moderate southerly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EDT Thursday.Product IDV10310
