Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 8/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system will move to the east of Tasmania today maintaining a ridge northwards along the New South Wales coast. A low pressure trough over the inland is weakening. The high is forecast to move over New Zealand by Friday. The next cold front is expected to approach from the southwest, moving across southern parts of the state on Friday before continuing to central and northern areas on the weekend.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayIsolated showers along the coast and adjacent ranges. The chance of showers over the northern inland, mainly near the Queensland border. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds.Thursday 10 FebruaryIsolated showers along the central and northern coasts and adjacent ranges. The chance of afternoon showers over the far northwest. Fine elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds.Friday 11 FebruaryIsolated showers about the northern coast. Showers developing across the south, becoming scattered near the southern border with possible thunderstorms. Fine elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds near the coast and northeast to northwest winds inland. A late southerly change in the far south.Saturday 12 FebruaryScattered showers or rain areas in the south. Isolated showers in the northeast, although mostly fine. Southerly winds extending through southern and central districts. Northeast to northwest winds elsewhere.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Wednesday.Product IDN10031
