MELBOURNE - Feb 8/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system crossing waters south of the Bight will pass to the south of Victoria during Wednesday. A trough of low pressure will enter western Victoria late Thursday and will cross central districts during Friday before moving away to the northeast Saturday morning. A high pressure will develop to the south of Western Australia during Saturday and extend a ridge towards Victoria by later in the day. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayFine apart from isolated drizzle in the far east. Moderate to locally fresh southerly winds.Wednesday 9 FebruaryFine apart from morning drizzle patches in the far east and isolated morning fog in the south. Mild with light to moderate east to northeasterly winds and fresh afternoon coastal seabreezes.Fire Danger - Low to Moderate.Thursday 10 FebruaryFine during the morning. Isolated showers and thunderstorms developing during the afternoon although remaining dry in east Gippsland. Mild to warm and becoming humid with light to moderate northerly winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes.Friday 11 FebruaryAreas of rain with isolated thunderstorms. Mild to warm and humid north to northwest winds tending cooler southwest to southerly across western and central districts.Saturday 12 FebruaryRain areas contracting to the north and far east during the morning before clearing later. Isolated showers and drizzle to follow, mainly in the south and mostly clearing during the afternoon.
