MELBOURNE - Feb 6/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A strong high pressure system is moving towards Tasmania extending a ridge to New South Wales north coast. The high will move over the southern Tasman Sea by Wednesday and then it will move slowly towards New Zealand during Thursday and Friday maintaining the ridge to the north coast. The next major frontal system is expected to affect the state on Friday and Saturday. Forecast for the rest of MondayScattered showers in the northeast with rain areas and isolated thunderstorms over the far northeastern inland. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Milder south to southeasterly winds.Tuesday 8 FebruaryAreas of rain in the north with isolated thunderstorms over the northern inland. Chance of showers on the central coast and adjacent ranges. Mostly sunny elsewhere. South to southeasterly winds.Wednesday 9 FebruaryIsolated showers along the central and north coast and adjacent ranges. Chance showers near the northern inland border.
