MELBOURNE - Feb 6/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A cold front will move into the northeastern half of the state this evening and pass through the far north coast Monday morning. The front has brought a significant change with milder temperatures. A high pressure system is expected to move towards Tasmania in the wake of the front, reaching the southern Tasman Sea by Wednesday. This pattern will maintain a generally southeast to northeast airstream over the state through the week. The next major frontal system is expected to affect NSW on Friday and Saturday. Forecast for the rest of SundayScattered to widespread showers in the northeast but clearing from the southwest. Isolated thunderstorms in central parts contracting to the northeast in the evening. North to northwest winds ahead of a cooler gusty south to southwesterly change extending into the northeast by late evening.Monday 7 FebruaryScattered showers or rain and isolated thunderstorms over the northeast, contracting further north during the day. Mostly fine elsewhere. Milder south to southeasterly winds.Tuesday 8 FebruaryAreas of rain in the north with isolated thunderstorms over the northern inland. Chance of isolated showers over the central coast and adjacent ranges. Mostly fine elsewhere. South to southeasterly winds.Wednesday 9 FebruaryIsolated showers along the central and north coast and adjacent ranges. Chance of isolated showers over the northern border. Fine elsewhere.
