MELBOURNE - Feb 4/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
For tonight and Saturday: WARNING SUMMARY: A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is current. A Flood Watch is current for the Pastoral, Northern Agricultural and Murray districts. SA Department for Water has issued a Flood Watch for the River Murray. For Enquiries go to www.waterforgood.sa.gov.au. Grape Growers in the Clare, Barossa and Riverland areas are advised that conditions during Saturday morning are likely to be conducive to Downy Mildew. A Strong Wind Warning is current for all South Australian coastal waters for Saturday. SOUTH AUSTRALIA: Isolated showers and thunderstorms, scattered and squally with local heavy falls over the northern agricultural area and far south of the Pastoral districts this afternoon and evening. A band of rain with local heavy falls and local flooding developing over these parts early Saturday morning, easing to scattered showers during the afternoon. Areas of rain with local heavy falls and local flooding over the Pastorals on Saturday. Isolated showers over southern and western coasts on Saturday. Mild to warm on Saturday, but cool to mild about southern coasts and with rain. Moderate northeast to northwest winds in the north, tending fresh easterly in the far north. Moderate to fresh southeast to southwest winds over agricultural areas extending northwards to reach a line Yunta to Woomera late this evening and Marree to Ernabella late Saturday evening, strong at times about the coast and the west of the state on Saturday.
