Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 3/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough will be almost stationary over Victoria until Saturday when a cold front will move across the state. A high pressure system will then develop south of Western Australia and extend a ridge over Victoria on Sunday and Monday.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayScattered showers and isolated thunderstorms over northern and eastern districts. Local heavy falls possible with thunderstorms. Light to moderate north to northeast winds tending southerly in the south and west.Friday 4 FebruaryMostly cloudy with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms over most of the state, tending to rain areas later in the north. Local heavy falls in the northeast. Warm to hot and humid with moderate north to northwesterly winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes.Fire Danger -  Low to moderate, reaching high in the Mallee.Saturday 5 FebruaryRain and isolated thunderstorms, contracting to the north and east later in the day. Heavy falls likely in the north and east. Mild to warm and cloudy with fresh to strong northwesterly winds shifting cooler southwesterly from the west during the day.Sunday 6 FebruaryRain areas with isolated thunderstorms in the northeast clearing during the afternoon. Early coastal drizzle in southwest and central districts. Cool southwest to southerly winds extending throughout.Monday 7 FebruaryFine apart from coastal drizzle developing later in the day. Cool to mild with mainly moderate southerly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EDT Friday.Product IDV10310
