Weather Situation A high pressure ridge will remain around Tasmania for the next few days. A low pressure trough will be almost stationary over Victoria until Saturday. A cold front will then move across the state during the weekend. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayMostly cloudy with isolated showers and thunderstorms, mainly in the north and east. Local heavy falls with thunderstorms. Light northerly winds and coastal seabreezes.Thursday 3 FebruaryScattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly affecting central and eastern districts, tending to rain areas in the northeast. Local heavy falls possible with thunderstorms. Warm to hot and humid. Light to moderate north to northwest winds inland and southerly winds extending through the west and south.Fire Danger - Low to moderate, reaching high in the Mallee.Friday 4 FebruaryScattered showers and local thunderstorms over most of the state, tending to rain areas in the north. Local heavy falls in the northeast. Warm to hot and humid with light northerly winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes.Saturday 5 FebruaryRain and isolated thunderstorms, contracting to the north and east later in the day with possible heavy falls. Mild to warm northwesterly winds shifting cooler southwesterly from the west.Sunday 6 FebruaryRain areas with isolated thunderstorms in the north and east contracting to the northeast and than clearing during the afternoon. Early coastal drizzle in southwest and central districts.
