MELBOURNE - Jan 29/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over the western Tasman Sea will move slowly east during the next few days before stalling near New Zealand later in the week. A ridge from this high extends north along the New South Wales coast, while a weak trough lies over the state's west. Temperatures and humidity levels are once again expected to rise during the early part of the week, as generally northerly winds become dominant. It is likely that by mid week this pattern will result in precipitation over a large part of the state, assisted by moisture drawn down from the remains of cyclone activity to the north. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated showers along the northern coast. Fine and mostly clear elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds. Dangerous surf conditions.Sunday 30 JanuaryIsolated showers on the far north coast. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Hot inland. East to northeast winds near the coast, and northeast to northwest winds inland. Dangerous surf conditions.Fire Danger - Very High in the Southern ranges, Southern slopes and North Western fire districts.Monday 31 JanuaryThe chance of showers on the far north coast. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Hot to very hot. An early southerly change on the south coast, otherwise northeast to northwest winds.Tuesday 1 FebruaryIsolated showers and possible thunderstorms developing over the northern inland, becoming scattered and extending to the northern coast and central districts later. Fine elsewhere. Hot to very hot. Northeast to northwest winds, before a late southerly change in the south.Wednesday 2 FebruaryIsolated showers across most districts, tending scattered about the southern and northwestern inland.
