Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 27/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A weak low pressure trough lies over northeastern New South Wales and a cold front is moving across the southeast. The trough will weaken further overnight and Friday as the front front moves over the southern Tasman Sea and a high pressure system moves towards Tasmania extending a ridge to the north coast. The high is expected to move over the southwestern Tasman Sea during Saturday and then to move slowly towards New Zealand maintaining the ridge to the north coast.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated afternoon showers and thunderstorms over the northeastern inland. Mostly clear elsewhere. North to northeast winds in the northeast, and southerly winds elsewhere.Friday 28 JanuaryIsolated showers and possible thunderstorms in the far northeast. Isolated showers along the remainder of the coast. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Milder south to southeast winds gradually extending throughout.Fire Danger -  Very High in the NOrthwestern Fire AreaSaturday 29 JanuaryIsolated showers about the north coast and adjacent ranges clearing from the south. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds.Sunday 30 JanuaryIsolated showers on the far north coast. Mostly sunny elsewhere.
