Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 23/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A weak high pressure system over the Tasman Sea extends a ridge to the New South Wales north coast. A low well south of Victoria extends a front northward which will move into NSW today with a southerly change moving northwards along the southern half of the coast. The front will stagnate over the inland and a trough will persist over inland NSW until Thursday
Forecast for the rest of Monday
Isolated showers in the southeast and possibly along the southern inland border. Fine elsewhere, mostly sunny in the west but partly cloudy remainder. Freshening northwest winds ahead of a west to southwest change over the southern and western inland. North to northeast winds along the coast ahead of a southerly change in the south. Hot over the inland.
Very High Fire Danger In: Hunter, Central Tablelands, Upper Western and in the Northwest and Central West Slopes and Plains districts.
Tuesday 25 JanuaryIsolated morning showers near the central coast. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Winds tending northwest to northeast. Hot to very hot over the inland.Wednesday 26 JanuaryIsolated showers on the south and central coasts. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Hot to very hot over the inland. Northwest to northeast winds ahead of a southerly change in the west and southeast.Thursday 27 JanuaryIsolated showers in the northeast and on the southern half of the coast. Fine but hot to very hot elsewhere. North to northeast winds in the far northeast, southerly winds elsewhere.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Monday.Product IDN10031
