MELBOURNE - Jan 22/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation Ahigh pressure system to the southeast of Tasmania extends a ridge along the NSW coast. A low is moving eastwards south of the Bight. A broad trough is over NSW which extends to northwestern Australia. During Monday the low will move south of Tasmania with an associated front will pass through NSW and will move northwards along the southern half of the NSW coast. However an upper ridge will also develop and this will ensure hot to very hot conditions over the inland. Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated showers and afternoon thunderstorms over the southern ranges and adjacent slopes and coast and extending northwards to the central tablelands and north en slopes and plains. The chance of a shower or two about the far north coast. Mostly sunny remainder. Hot over the inland. West to northwest winds tending southeast to northeast neat the coast.Monday 24 JanuaryIsolated showers in the far southeast and possibly along the southern inland border. Fine elsewhere. North to northwest winds becoming fresh and gusty about the central and southern ranges. Winds northeasterly along the coast and turning south to southwest in the west and southeast. Hot to very hot over the inland.Tuesday 25 JanuaryIsolated morning showers near the central coast. Mostly sunny elsewhere. North to northwest winds turning south to southwest in the west and southeast. Hot to very hot over the inland. Light winds inland, southeast to northeast winds near the coast.Wednesday 26 JanuaryIsolated showers on the south and central coasts. Fine elsewhere. Hot to very hot over the inland.
