MELBOURNE - Jan 21/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system west of Tasmania is moving eastwards, with a weak southerly change expected along the NSW south coast today ahead of it. By Sunday the high will move to the southeast of Tasmania. A broad trough lies over New South Wales and this is expected to intensify on Monday as a front moves through the state from the west. This front is expected to affect eastern parts of the state on Tuesday. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated showers on the far north coast. Scattered showers and afternoon and evening thunderstorms about the southeast, tending isolated over much of the remainder. West to southwest winds over the southwestern inland and east to southeast winds over the remainder. Northeast to southeast winds along the coast..Sunday 23 JanuaryIsolated showers and thunderstorms over the southeastern quarter and isolated showers about the far north coast. Mostly sunny remainder. Westerly winds over the southern inland, and southeast to northeast winds elsewhere.Monday 24 JanuaryThe chance of isolated showers in the far southeast and northeast. Fine elsewhere. North to northwest winds ahead of a west to southwest change in the western and southern inland and a southerly change along the southern half of the coast.Tuesday 25 JanuaryIsolated showers on the coast and adjacent ranges south of about Port Macquarie. Mostly sunny elsewhere.
