Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 19/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A weak high pressure system is centred east of Tasmania over the Tasman Sea. A low pressure trough over Western Australia will move eastwards across the State on Friday as another high moves across the Bight. The high will move slowly southeastwards towards the Tasman Sea. Another trough will approach western Victoria on Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayEarly morning fog patches in the south then a warm and mostly sunny day. Light to moderate north to northeasterly winds and milder afternoon seabreezes near the coast.Fire Danger -  Low to ModerateFriday 21 JanuaryIsolated showers developing over the southwest in the morning and extending eastwards during the day, although remaining fine in the Mallee. Showers tending more widespread in the southeast. Isolated thunderstorms in the east during the afternoon. Warm north to northwesterly winds, freshening in the south ahead of a cooler southerly change extending from the southwest during the day.Saturday 22 JanuaryIsolated showers and possible thunderstorms over the east. Warm in the north, milder in the south. Light to moderate south to southeasterly winds becoming fresh east to southeasterly near the coast.Sunday 23 JanuaryIsolated showers and possible thunderstorms over the east. Warm inland with light to moderate southeasterly winds, milder near the coast with afternoon seabreezes.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Thursday.Product IDV10310
