MELBOURNE - Jan 12/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
For the rest of today and Friday: WARNING SUMMARY: A Severe Weather Warning is current. A Strong Wind Warning is current for the South East Coast south of Port MacDonnell. Grape Growers in all districts are advised that forecast conditions are conducive to an outbreak of Downy Mildew. An Advice to Sheep Graziers is current. A Flood Watch is current for the North East Pastoral, Flinders, Murray and South East districts. SA Department for Water has issued a Flood Watch for the River Murray. For Enquiries go to www.waterforgood.sa.gov.au SOUTH AUSTRALIA: Patchy rain east of about Ernabella to Kingscote, with areas of rain east of about Oodnadatta to Victor Harbor. Local heavy falls and local flooding northeast of about Leigh Creek to Renmark, extending southwards along eastern districts during the day and into the South East district in the late afternoon or evening. Isolated thunderstorms northeast of Renmark to Marree, tending scattered in the far northeast during the afternoon. Rain and thunderstorms contracting steadily east and easing from the west to be confined to the far northeast by late Friday morning. Isolated showers over the southern agricultural area on Friday contracting south during the day and clearing by evening. Morning fog patches east of about Ceduna. Mild to warm, tending hot in the northwest. Fresh and gusty northerly winds in the northeast, extending along the eastern border during the day. Moderate to fresh south to southwest winds elsewhere, extending throughout and easing by late this evening.
