MELBOURNE - Jan 9/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A broad slow moving trough is forecast to strengthen over western Victoria during today. The trough will develop into a low pressure system over South Australia during Thursday. A high pressure system to the south of Tasmania is expected to move over the Tasman Sea on Thursday. Forecast for the rest of MondayCloudy and humid with scattered showers tending to areas of rain over central and western districts. Scattered thunderstorms. Local heavy falls possible. Mild with moderate to fresh east to southeasterly winds, strong at times about the coast.Tuesday 11 JanuaryCloudy and humid with areas of rain and local heavy falls. Isolated thunderstorms, more likely across the north. Mild with moderate to fresh east to southeasterly winds, strong at times about the coast.Wednesday 12 JanuaryCloudy and humid with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms. Mild to warm with light to moderate north to northeasterly winds, tending fresh to strong east to northeasterly about the coast.Thursday 13 JanuaryCloudy and humid with scattered showers tending to rain over the west later. Isolated thunderstorms possible over the northwest with some heavy falls.
