Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 9/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A broad slow moving trough is forecast to strengthen over western Victoria and South Australia on Monday. The trough will develop into a low pressure system over South Australia on Thursday. A high pressure system to the west of Tasmania will move south of Tasmania tonight then slowly move to the southern Tasman Sea and weaken during Monday and Tuesday. Another high will develop to the south of Tasmania on Wednesday before moving to the Tasman Sea on Thursday.
Forecast for the rest of SundayAreas of rain over the northern inland, isolated showers near and south of the ranges. Moderate to fresh south to southeasterly winds.Monday 10 JanuaryCloudy and humid with scattered showers tending to areas of rain over central and western districts. Isolated thunderstorms, more likely across the north. Local heavy falls possible about western districts. Mild with moderate to fresh east to southeasterly winds, strong at times about the coast.Tuesday 11 JanuaryCloudy and humid with areas of rain over the north extending throughout during the afternoon. Isolated thunderstorms, more likely across the north. Mild with moderate to fresh east to southeasterly winds, strong at times about the coast.Wednesday 12 JanuaryCloudy and humid with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms. Mild to warm with light to moderate north to northeasterly winds, tending fresh to strong east to northeasterly about the coast.Thursday 13 JanuaryCloudy and humid with scattered showers tending to rain over the west later. Isolated thunderstorms possible over the northwest. Mild with light to moderate east to northeasterly winds, becoming fresh to strong over western districts and about the coast during the afternoon.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EDT Monday.Product IDV10310
