MELBOURNE - Jan 8/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system south of the Bight will move to the south of Tasmania today then remain in the vicinity until mid-week. A low pressure trough extends from central Australia to Victoria and is slow moving. These systems will direct a humid and unstable easterly airflow flow across Victoria. Forecast for the rest of SundayLocal morning drizzle in the south. Isolated showers and thunderstorms, mainly in the north and east. Mild in the south, warm in the north. Moderate to locally fresh south to southeasterly winds, strengthening about the coast during the afternoon and evening.Monday 10 JanuaryCloudy and humid with scattered showers, more isolated in the south. Isolated thunderstorms, more likely across the north with local heavy falls possible. Mild with moderate to fresh east to southeasterly winds, strong at times about the coast.Tuesday 11 JanuaryCloudy and humid with scattered showers, more isolated in the south. Isolated thunderstorms, more likely across the north.
