MELBOURNE - Jan 8/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A trough of low pressure across central Victoria will move northeastwards then weaken overnight. A high pressure system will develop south of the Bight tonight then move to the south of Tasmania on Sunday then remain stationary until mid-week. This will produce a moist and unstable easterly flow across the State. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayWarm to hot with moderate northerly winds over central and eastern districts ahead of a cooler, gusty southwest change extending throughout tonight. Isolated showers and the chance of thunderstorms mainly near and following the change.Sunday 9 JanuaryIsolated showers and thunderstorms, mainly in the afternoon and evening. clearing in the southwest by the afternoon. Mild in the south, warm in the north. Moderate southeasterly winds, fresh about the coast during the afternoon.Monday 10 JanuaryCloudy and humid with scattered showers, more isolated in the south. Isolated thunderstorms, more likely across the north. Mild with moderate to fresh east to southeasterly winds, strong at times about the coast.Tuesday 11 JanuaryCloudy and humid with scattered showers, more isolated in the south.
