MELBOURNE - Jan 5/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Western Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Warning summary
Severe thunderstorms warning for areas bounded by Hopetoun, Wongan Hills,
Jackson, Norseman and Israelite Bay.
Flood Warning for the Gascoyne River catchment.
Fire Weather Warning for the Southeast Coastal District for Wednesday.
Road Weather Alert for Perth for Wednesday.
Forecast for Wednesday evening
SW Land Division: A band of rain and isolated thunderstorms in the southwest
moving across the Division during the day and reaching far northern and eastern
parts during the evening. Scattered showers and squally thunderstorms ahead of
the rain band. Moderate to heavy falls.
Remainder of the state apart from the southeast Interior and the eastern Eucla:
Isolated showers and thunderstorms.
Forecast for Thursday
Goldfields, Eucla and southern Interior: Rain areas easing to showers in the
Goldfields and most of the Eucla by the afternoon. Moderate to heavy falls
possible.
Northeastern SW Land Division: Rain clearing by sunrise with isolated showers
continuing, scattered in the northern Central West with isolated thunderstorms.
Near the Lower West and Southwest coasts: Isolated light showers, clearing the
Lower West in the morning.
Gascoyne, Pilbara, Interior and the Kimberley: Isolated showers and
thunderstorms becoming scattered in the Kimberley and northern Interior. Some
early rain in the far southern Gascoyne.
