Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 4/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A slow-moving weak high pressure system is centred west of Tasmania, while a broad trough of low pressure lies over inland New South Wales and a low is over the Tasman Sea and moving away towards the southeast. The trough is expected to weaken later Wednesday and Thursday as a high strengthens over the the southern Tasman Sea and extends a ridge along the New South Wales coast.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayIsolated showers along the north coast, more frequent at times along the coastal fringe and in the far north. Isolated showers and thunderstorms along the northern border districts apart from the western border areas. Fine elsewhere. Southwest to southeast winds.Wednesday 5 JanuaryIsolated showers and thunderstorms across the northern half, and developing in the southeast and central ranges during the afternoon. Fine elsewhere. Southeast to southwest winds.Thursday 6 JanuaryIsolated showers in the east, tending scattered near the Queensland border. The chance of thunderstorms in the northeast. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds.Friday 7 JanuaryIsolated showers in the northeast, tending scattered about the northern coast. Fine elsewhere. East to northeast winds, turning westerly in the far west.Saturday 8 JanuaryIsolated showers in the northeast, tending scattered about the northern coast. Isolated showers developing in the far southwest. Fine elsewhere.
