Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 2/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system south of the Bight will drift slowly eastwards to be centred over Tasmania by Monday night then over the southern Tasman Sea on Tuesday. Another high pressure centre will develop over the Bight on Tuesday then move to the southern Tasman Sea by Thursday.
Forecast for the rest of SundayFine. Clear in the north but areas of cloud in the south. Moderate southerly winds, fresh at first on the coast.Monday 3 JanuaryFine apart from the chance of an afternoon shower in the far east. Generally warm and sunny in the north, milder south of the divide with areas of morning cloud. Moderate to locally fresh south to southeasterly winds.Tuesday 4 JanuaryFine apart from the chance of light showers in the far east. Mild in the south, warmer in the north. A mostly sunny day with a light to moderate south to southeasterly wind freshening near the coast during the afternoon with sea breezes.Wednesday 5 JanuaryIsolated showers developing in the east with the chance of afternoon thunderstorms. Warm to hot in the north, milder in the south with southeasterly winds, fresh near the coast.Thursday 6 JanuaryIsolated showers in the far east, clearing during the morning, otherwise dry. A warm day in the south, grading to hot in the north. Light to moderate east to northeast wind and fresh afternoon coastal sea breezes.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EDT Monday.Product IDV10310
